                                          The Witch was built to the same spec (23/25) as the Gloster Goring and the Hawker Harrier.
                                       .  This called for a two-seat high performance day bomber/torpedo bomber.   By that time, West-
                                          land's design staff were thoroughly monoplane-minded and came up with the fairly large (61 ft
                                          span) parasol winged design seen above.   Built around a 480 hp Bristol Jupiter VIIIF engine,
                                          the aircraft was capable of carrying an internally stowed 520 lb bomb.   No contracts were let
                                          under this spec and the Witch wound up with the Parachute Training Unit at Henlow.
