de Havilland D.H.89 Dragon Rapide A3-1 (1935)                        (c/n 6270)

                                   

                                        Two Dragon Rapides were originally delivered to the RAAF in 1935/36 for use on survey flights.
                                        They were A3-1 and A3-2.   A3-1 was not retained when the project was finished and was sold
                                        on the civilian market as VH-UFF.   It was flown by Holymans/Australian National Airways and
                                        Airlines of Australia Ltd until July 1940, when  it was operated, once again, by the RAAF.    By
                                        this time the RAAF had used a new sequence of serials and the Rapide became A33-3.
