YV-C-AMR  Curtiss C-46                                 (c/n  415)

Unlike many of the large Latin American carriers, LAV were not a great operator of the C-46.
In fact, they only had four of them.  This early C-46A-60-CK had seen time in the CBI (China-
Burma-India) theater in WW II.   Post conflict it wound up with the Nationalist Chinese Air Force
and then went on to become one of Taiwan's Civil Air Transport fleet, albeit with the US registration
NC8377C.   It went to Venezuela in 1956.  A change of the registration system saw it become
YV-16C in 1975.  It was withdrawn from use a year later.  The above shot is from the Jennifer
                            Gradidge collection.
