                                              Originally founded on 16 June 1926, Colonial Airways was awarded Contract Air Mail Route
                                              # 1 from New York to Boston.  By 1929 it had expanded the service of air mail carriage to include
                                              passengers.  This Fokker was one of several operated by the company.  It became part of the
                                              Colonial Airways Corporation group, controlled by the Aviation Corporation of America (AVCO)
                                              which in turn was consolidated, in 1930,. to become American Airways.
