ZK-ATC  de Havilland D.H.82A Tiger Moth                   (c/n  DHNZ88)

Ex NZ838, it went to the Kaitaia Aero Club in 1949 in whose service it is seen here.  By 1953
it was with Northern Air Services and then went to Wanganui Aero Club in May 1955.  It then
had several aero club and private owners until  it crashed at Tinopai on 19 October 1969 after
striking a fence on takeoff.  The aircraft stalled, struck a creek bank and according to the accident
report was written off.  However, it was rebuilt at Matamata in the early 1970s, flew some more
in New Zealand and then was exported to Australia in 1991 as VH-DOC.  It is, I believe, still
                                             currently airworthy in Australia.
