VH-UPX  de Havilland  D.H.60X Moth            (c/n  598)

This photo, from the John Hopton collection, looks like it was taken in a fog.  However, consider
this:  The aircraft was registered to the Civil Aviation Branch, Dept of Defence on 8 May 1931.
Exactly one month later (8 June 1931) it crashed at remote Tallarook, Victoria. (near Seymour).
The wreckage was not found until 24 June 1931.  Therefore the time frame for photo taking of
this machine was quite short and it is entirely possible that the above poor image is the only one
                                     extant.
