G-AUME   de Havilland D.H.60 Moth               (c/n  241)

                                         

                                            Switches On.....Contact..... This early Moth having its prop swung at Essendon in 1928 was ex
                                            G-EBME and had been  imported in January of that year for the Australian Aero Club (Victorian
                                            Section).    Photo above via the John Hopton collection.   It did not last long, and was written off
                                            in a crash 1/4 mile west of Essendon aerodrome on Boxing Day, 1928 before it had a chance to
                                            be re-registered into the VH-U series.
