VH-UAN  de Havilland D.H.60X Moth                  (c/n  542)

The original of this photograph, from the John Oxley Library, State Library
of Queensland collection, appears to have been signed by a W. Gardner.
Since the Moth was a Queensland Aero Club machine from its first registration
in August 1932 until its demise in 1937, it would seem that Mr. Gardner was
probably a club member, rather than owner of the aircraft.   On 19 June 1937
this Moth collided in mid-air with VH-UAV approximately 1/2 mile SE of
Archerfield aerodrome, and was stricken off the register.  An earlier prang was
recorded in the Brisbane Courier Mail for 29 September 1933 a clipping of which
appears below.  It was out of action due to this mishap until 4 January 1934.
