G-AUHN   de Havilland D.H.60G Gipsy Moth                  (c/n  875)

                                         

                                              The above photograph came from the Melbourne Argus of 31 July 1929.   G-AUHN had been
                                              registered the previous December to the Civil Aviation Branch, Dept. of Defence and loaned to
                                              the Australian Aero Club (NSW) Section based at Mascot.   This crash occurred at Wentworth
                                              Falls in the Blue Mountains of NSW on 28 July.  It apparently had been flying with Avro Avian
                                              G-AUHK when thick fog forced both aircraft down.  Incredibly both machines were repaired,
                                              but -UHN was to crash again a year later on 8 August 1930.  That latest accident, at Brighton-
                                              le-Sands, NSW rendered the coup de grace and -UHN was struck off the register on 20 Nov
                                              1931.
