G-AUCH  Bristol Monoplane M.1c                  (c/n  2819)

                                  

                                      This rare shot is from the Kevin OReilly collection and shows the Bristol Monoplane owned by
                                      Harry Butler and Harry Kauper which was first registered in June 1921.   It was known as "The
                                      Red Devil".  I am not sure whether it ever actually carried the rego G-AUCH.   The gentlemen
                                      in the close up below are Harry Kauper and Captain Harry Butler, A.F.C.     The little Bristol
                                      was struck off the rregister in June 1922 and restored as VH-UQI    At that time the 110 hp Le
                                      Rhone engine seen on the front end here was replaced with a 98 hp Gipsy Mk. I.
