VH-PGS  DHC-6-320 Twin Otter                              (c/n  269)

                                  

                                     Early in 1970 Ansett Airlines of Papua New Guinea acquired three new dash -300 Twin Otters
                                     from Floair, Inc. in the U.S. .  I am not sure what the story was, but Floair took delivery of c/n 269
                                     on 12 December 1969 and resold it to Ansett ten days later, so clearly they did not put many hours
                                     on it!.   It was officially registered in Australia on 2 February 1970.     Greg Banfield took the above
                                     shot at Bankstown a couple of days prior to that on 31 January 1970.   After almost four years in
                                     PNG it was withdrawn from service at Lae in October 1973, and sold in Canada as CF-JJF.
                                     Mike Madden saw it at Bankstown (below) in 1974 having been refurbished before departing
                                     for Canada.
