VH-MPW (2)  Cessna 180                                       (c/n  32636)

                              

                                  VH-MPW was one of half a dozen 180s entered into the 1964 Ansett Air Race.  Greg Banfield
                                  saw it (above) looking very sharp at Bankstown on 29 March 1964.  It was flown in the race by
                                  owner M.P. Willsallen of 'Dunolly' Station via Harden, NSW, and was the second allocation of
                                  this registration, his first being the Aiglet Trainer.   Geoff Goodall took the hangar shot (immediately
                                  below) at Parafield in the early 1960s.   At the foot of the page is yet another image of this Cessna
                                  by Bob Neate at Cootamundra in March 1962.   180s with spats always looked classic, although
                                  were mud gatherers.  As such, one never saw ag Cessnas with spats.  VH-MPW is still on  the register.
