VH-MBO  Mooney M.20C Mark 21                                 (c/n 2358)

                              

                                   Geoff Goodall's shot of -MBO was taken at Swan Hill, Victoria in  March 1965.  First registered
                                   in February 1963 to Mr. Langdon Badger who operated a furniture business in Adelaide. He was
                                   a keen pilot who flew the Mooney all over Australia, later upgrading to Mustang VH-IVI, and
                                   recovering a RAAF Spitfire hulk from its forced landing site in New Guinea and rebuilding it in
                                   Adelaide for static display.   Langdon flew the Mooney in the 1964 Ansett Air Race from Brisbane
                                   to Adelaide, and.Greg Banfield caught it on the overnight layover at Bankstown on 29 March 1964
                                   wearing its race number (below). -MBO is still currently registered and flies out of Katherine, NT.
