VH-KSK Auster
J/5 Adventurer
(c/n 2809)

This Autocrat (the four seat J/5s were later named Adventurer in
Australia)
originally went to
Gibbes Sepik Airways in New Guinea when new.
It returned to Australia in 1955 and had
a series of
owners
until 1975 when its C of R was not renewed. It was reactivated
again in
1982 and
purchased by Alan Parise at RAAF Point Cook in
1988 who completed its restoration.
The above (less
than
brilliant) shot is from the Barry Maclean
collection and was taken at Pt.
Cook in that era. More
recently
it appears to be
under yet another rebuild in North Queensland
and owned by John Innes, of Bunya.
It is still
currently registered, but its airworthiness status
unknown. The shot below, by Geoff
Goodall, shows the aircraft at Griffith, NSW in July of
1967.
