VH-KCB  Auster J/5P Autocar             (c/n  3198)

The above shot was taken by Peter Kelly (via Geoff Goodall) at Wagga in 1970, whilst Greg
Banfield's color rendition below was taken at the same time and at the same venue.  I am not
sure of the significance of the cookie dough icon.  This aircraft was originally built as a J/5P but
was converted in December 1962 to a standard model J/5B.  It was restored in August 1983
as a J/5P with the the de Havilland Gipsy Major 10 engine    However, the hangar shot below
from the Bob Neate collection (Wagga, December 1963) and the photo at the foot of the page
from Kim Skyring both also depict it as a J/5B  . In the latter image the old lady was looking like
it had gone to the dogs!     I understand that this Autocar is currently undergoing a complete re-
build at Moorabbin.  That being the case, hopefully it will be seen on the air show circuit, 'ere long.
