VH-ILD  Beech E55 Baron                                             (c/n  TE-788)

                                                                         
 
                                      Ferried to Australia as N4055A, VH-ILD was registered to Beech agent Hawker de Havilland
                                      in April 1970.     It flew for a while on aerial survey work with Geophysical Resources Develop-
                                      ment Company, or GRD.        David Carter’s photograph from April 14, 1971, shows it with a
                                      magneti anomaly detector boom.       –ILD was converted back to a standard E55 and sold to
                                      Irwell Brass Founders of Perth.   It was still in the west in September 2016, flying with the most
                                      unlikely named firm based out of tropical Port Hedland – Polar Aviation.
