VH-GKN  Cessna U206A Super Skywagon                               (c/n  U206-0609)

                                

                                     VH-GKN arrived, crated at Bankstown in July 1966 and was quickly assembled as VH-RXB before
                                     being sold to Territory Airlines in New Guinea.  It ws re-registered VH-GKN on 12 October 1966
                                     and is seen above outside Rex's assembly hangar awaiting its delivery flight to Goroka in this shot by
                                     Alan Bovelt.     It was operated by Talair until 10 December 1970 when it went missing on a charter
                                     flight from Kopiago to Oksapmin, over some of the roughest country in New Guinea.  An aerial search.
                                     located the wreckage in trees in the deep valley of the Porgera River, at an elevation of some 10,000
                                     feet.  The pilot, Gavin Dennis, a Qantas pilot cadet attached to Talair for field experience and his two
                                     passengers were killed.
