VH-FDA  (2)  DHA-3 Drover 3A                           (c/n  5019)

                                  

                                       The first VH-FDA was the Dragon ex VH-ASO.  It was replaced with this Drover in 1956, which
                                       was actually the last Drover built.  Like several others of its breed it had its original Gipsy Major
                                       engines swapped out for Lycoming O-360-A1As in 1960 or thereabouts.  It was sold off in 1967
                                       when replaced by the sleek Beagle B.206 and this second -FDA become VH-UNK.  Shortly after-
                                       wards it became VH-UMA, then went to New Zealand as ZK-DDD finally returning to Australia
                                       as VH-FBC.  It is now part of the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney. It was in full operation when the
                                       image above, from the Geoff Goodall collection, was taken by Rod Adam at Parafield Airport, in
                                       May of 1963.
