VH-EXA  Dornier Do.28B-1 Skyservant                           (c/n   3071)

                                    

                                       This rather "cluttered" Richard Maclean shot was taken against the background of the old hangars
                                       at Essendon in 1967.  Geoff Goodall's shot (below), taken at Parafield, Adelaide in September of
                                       the prior year is clearer.  This rather oddly-designed STOL light transport was originally registered
                                       in Germany as D-IDUN.  It became VH-ATR shortly after this shot was taken, and was reputedly
                                       sold in Israel in 1972 (although a Do.28 does not appear on any historic 4X- registers I have on
                                       hand, so possibly it went to the IDFAF?
