VH-EDG    Piper PA-30 Twin Comanche                    (c/n 30-1823)

                             

                                 VH-EDG was ferried to Australia as N8679Y and registered in August 1970.      In 1975 David
                                 Carter photographed it at Bankstown in the markings of Goddard’s Air Service, of Bathurst.  On
                                 the night of 16 April, 1996, –EDG crashed at Charleville killing the pilot, who was the only occupant.
                                 He had lost control during a practice VOR approach.    Investigators were unable to determine why
                                 but did note that one engine was at reduced  power on impact and the pilot was inexperienced at
                                 flying multi-engine aircraft at night.
