VH-EBN (1)    Douglas DC-4                               (c/n  7458)

                               

                                     This rare shot of -EBN came from the Jeff Atkinson collection, via Geoff Goodall.  It was taken
                                     at Mascot, probably in the mid-1950s.  The DC-4 was an ex military C-54A-1-DO delivered to
                                     the USAAF as 42-107439.   Civilianized late in 1945 it became American Airlines' NC90414
                                     'Flagship America'.   American sold it in 1949 to Flying Tiger who immediately resold it on to
                                     Qantas in July of that year.   In September of 1958 it was leased to Malayan Airways as VR-SEA
                                     (who named it 'Albatross')..  Returning from the lease in April 1960 it was re-registered VH-EDB,
                                     and as late as 2007 it was still currently registered, if not airworthy, in Canada.
