VH-EBM  Douglas DC-4-1009                    (c/n  42918)

                                    

                                           VH-EBM was the second of the ex-Western Air Lines DC-4s.   It was built as N10203 and
                                           sold to ANA as VH-ANG.   Qantas acquired it in 1949.  It is seen here at Mascot in 1954.
                                           After ten years with QANTAS (it was converted to freighter configuration towards the end of
                                           its tenure with that airline) it was sold in the USA to Zantop Air Transport as N600Z.    It was
                                           acquired by Trans Mediterranean Airways (TMA) in 1962 becoming OD-AEC, and was used
                                           in their freight operation.  In July of 1962, after only three months with TMA it crashed into the
                                           sea at Brindisi, Italy, killing all six crew members.    The image of -EBM below, recived via Jim
