VH-DNU   Cessna 172F Skyhawk                         (c/n  17252703)

                                

                                      VH-DNU was registered in June 1965,  part of a block of registrations allocated to Rex Aviation
                                      at the time for buyers not interested in a personalised markings.  It had been N8797U before being
                                      shipped to Australia.     David Carter’s photograph shows –DNU taxying for departure at Hoxton
                                      Park, Sydney, after an air show in late 1969.     The 1976 register showed the aircraft was based
                                      at Cunnamulla.      It was not far from that Queensland town that it was destroyed in an accident at
                                      Yaralla Station, near, Goodooga, NSW on 4 July, 1986.    A pilot undergoing  a cattle mustering
                                      endorsement crashed after the Cessna’s left wing touched the ground.   Both on board were killed.
