VH-DGQ  Cessna 180H Skywagon                 (c/n  18051456)

                                   

                                        The above photo, by Peter Kelly, was taken at Berwick, Victoria in October 1970     The Sky-
                                        wagon had
been registered new to Pay & Williamson at Scone, NSW in January 1965 as a crop
                                        duster.  Geoff Goodall's shot below was taken at Goulburn, NSW when it was still new in Sept
                                        1965. It was later sold and returned to its 4-seat original status.  It ended its days with Norwest
                                         Air Charter working out of Smithton, Tasmania.   Their Cessnas suffered a high attrition rate oper-
                                         ating as they did from beaches and rough sandy airstrips off the northern Tasmanian coast.  -DGQ
                                         was written off when it crashed after take off from Sandy Cape Beach, Tasmania on 27 February
                                         1972 and was destroyed by the subsequent fire.  Its three hardy occupants escaped unhurt.
