VH-DFJ  de Havilland D.H.82A Tiger Moth    (c/n   DHA861)

                              

                                  A rather nondescript, but clean-looking looking Tiger at Moorabbin in 1958.   It had just been
                                  civilianized and still has its orange fuselage band.  This was one of the machines originally destined
                                  for the Empire Air Training scheme in South Africa but diverted to the RAAF as A17-631   Its UK
                                  serial was to have been DX818.   It is still extant on the register today and Barry Maclean took the
                                  photograph below at Pt. Cook in the 1990s.
