VH-EAA  Boeing 707-338C                          (c/n   19621)

                                 

                                     Some 22 of the 320 series Boeing 707s were employed by Qantas.  VH-EAA ("Toowoomba")
                                     was the first of a second batch whose delivery commenced at the end of 1967.  A decade later it
                                     was sold to ITEL as OO-YCK by which time it had been relegated to freight duties.  Both shots
                                     in this entry were taken at Mascot by Greg Banfield. Above in Febnruary 1972 with the original
                                     V-Jet tail and, and below in September 1974 now wearing the distinctive large flying kangaroo,
                                     perpetuated in the replacement aircrraft, the Boeing 747, a larger version of which now adorns
                                     the mighty Airbus A380.
