VH-EAA
Boeing
707-338C
(c/n 19621)

Some 22 of the 320
series Boeing 707s were employed by Qantas. VH-EAA ("Toowoomba")
was the
first of a second batch whose delivery commenced at the end of
1967. A decade later it
was sold
to ITEL as OO-YCK by which time it had been relegated to freight
duties. Both shots
in
this entry were taken at Mascot by Greg Banfield. Above in Febnruary
1972 with the original
V-Jet
tail and, and below in September 1974 now wearing the distinctive large
flying kangaroo,
perpetuated in the replacement aircrraft, the Boeing 747, a larger
version of which now adorns
the mighty
Airbus A380.
