VH-BQE  Desoutter Mk II  (c/n D.30)

                            

                               I have several photos of this old bird.  For details on it see the photograph under VH-UEE.
                               All these shots were taken at Bankstown.  Above it is seen outside Kingsford-Smith's hangar, circa
                               1956.  The two lower shots show it in service (somewhat earlier) with the Illawarra Flying School.
                               Actually, the top photograph shows it as it was when operated by South Coast Airways
                               (Illawarra were negotiating for its purchase) whilst the hangar shot illustrates it in full Illawarra
                               garb (red and white).
