VH-BYO  Auster J/1B Aiglet     (c/n 2687)


                              

                                   The Aiglet was a converted Autocrat with a Gipsy Major1 engine and was conceived as an
                                   agricultural and crop dusting aircraft.  More than 30 appeared on the Australian civil register
                                   and, by and large, they were brought in engineless and finished by Kingsford Smith Aviation
                                   Services in Bankstown, NSW.    Here is one in the role for which it was designed.   This machine
                                   had previously been registered VH-KBN in the KSAS block.  It was withdrawn from use in 1960.
