VH-BPW  Piper PA-23-250 Aztec                           (27-137)

                                 

                                     VH-BPW was another of the 'short-nosed' Aztecs converted sometime during its career to carry
                                     the extended baggage-carrying long nose of a 'B' variant.   Geoff Goodall's shot above wa taken
                                     at Katanning, WA in September of  1975 while the aircraft was owned by businessman Grahame
                                     L. Down who lived in nearby Gnowangerup WA.     This Aztec was first registered in July 1960
                                     to Mitchell Aerial Services of Cairns Qld as VH-ETB, and re-registered VH-BPW when MAS
                                     were taken over by their larger competitor at Cairns, Bush Pilots Airways.    Grahame Down had
                                     purchased it in January 1975 from Angco Marketing Pty Ltd of Goroka, Papua, New Guinea.
