VH-BLN  Miles M.65 Gemini 1A                        (c/n  6468)

                                

                                  
Neither of these shots is exactly brilliant. The hangar shot above was taken by Greg Banfield at
                                   Archerfield in February 1964, although the aircraft had been (officially) withdrawn from use by
                                   in October 1962.  It was painted silver with red cheat line and registration lettering.  The image
                                   below from the Bob Livingstone collection (via Geoff Goodall) shows the remains at Archerfield
                                   after it had been dumped for use as a fire practice carcass (along with the remains of VH-ALP)
                                   in the mid 1960s.  It was finally burned and destroyed around 1967.   VH-BLN was previously
                                   G-AJZM and first registered in Australia in July 1948.
