VH-BGI  Auster III                                                      (c/n  365)

                                     

                                          This 'better than nothing' image is the only shot major contributor to this site Geoff Goodall has
                                          been able to unearth of this Auster III, although a better hangar photo of it appears under the entry
                                          for VH-DQN, an identity it assumed after a restoration in 1965.   The above was taken at Inverell,
                                          NSW in December 1961.   By then it had been retired by its owner of the previous twelve years,
                                          Ted Wilkinson of Inverell, who had been one of the founders of East West Airlines.   As stated, it
                                          was restored some four years later for an ex-mayor of Deniliquin, NSW.
