VH-AYY  de Havilland D.H.82A Tiger Moth                    (c/n  DHA214)

Two shots of this Tiger which was ex A17-213.  Mine, above was taken at Moorabbin early in
1958 when the aircraft was operated by Fred Hoinville's "Sky Ads" venture (message writing in
the sky).   The aircraft was named "Brolga".   The image below is from the Graeme Parsons
collection showing -AYY at Camden in 1951, although none of the characters present is Fred
himself.  VH-AYY was written off in a crash at Goulburn, NSW on 5 May 1958 (shortly after
my photo was taken).  Hoinville, sadly, was killed in 1959 whilst testing a glider at Goulburn (hit
a wire fence and basically was decapitated).
