VH-AYA  Cessna 182N Skylane                     (c/n  182-60204)

                           
                
                               I doubt very much that I will ever glean a photograph of the original VH-AYA which was an Avro
                              Anson registered late in 1946 and wfu a year later.   The aircraft seen above was not registered until
                              September of 1973 and, as such it is somewhat "out of sequence" as regards the range of images I am
                              currently mounting (early 2008), qualification for inclusion of which is that they were first registered in
                              or before 1970.   However, I am using this photograph to illustrate the starboard landing gear platform
                              modification in more detail, as referred to in the entry for VH-EFY.   As can be seen in the close-up
                              below, this sturdy structure is used as a perch for skydivers before taking their leap, and is fitted over
                              the standard sprung steel leg on the starboard side only.  Both shots were taken by Phil Vabre at
                              Bendigo, Victoria in November 2006 when the aircraft was used for skydiving at nearby Bridgewater
