VH-AXN  de Havilland D.H.82A Tiger Moth                  (c/n  DHA166)

                               

                                    VH-AXN is seen at Perth's Maylands Aerodrome in October 1946 in this photo from the Geoff
                                    Goodall collection.  This was immediately after its civil conversion from RAAF A17-165.  It had
                                    just been sold by the Commonwealth Disposals Commission at RAAF Cunderdin to the Bishop
                                    of Geraldton, WA for 315 pounds on 18 June 1946.   It was registered to Father Edward Bryan
                                    of the Roman Catholic Mission, Gerlandton and carried the name "Loreto" on the nose. Unfortun-
                                    ately its pastoral service lasted only two months, as VH-AXN crashed at Roy Hill WA on 12
                                    December 1946
