VH-AQR  de Havilland D.H.82A Tiger Moth                       (c/n  DHA61)

This photo is from the album of  Robert Blaikie.  It was taken at Archerfield in 1952 and depicts his
late uncle, Frank W. Paltridge who was flying his daughter, Diana, (immaculate in school uniform)
home from boarding school to their property at St. George, Queensland.  The Tiger was one of the
Royal Queensland Aero Club's and based, at the time, at St. George.  The RQAC maintained several
out statioin locales for branches of the club in those years.  .  This Tiger was withdrawn from use in
April 1962.  It then languished in as hangar until 1971 when it was sold in the US as N9279.     As
such it crashed and was written off in Virginia in 1990.  It is was rebuilt in 2008 as N282DH and
flew in the Houston, Tx area.  In March 2011 it was sold in Israel and is, I believe, still current there.
