VH-AMO (1)  de Havilland D.H.84 Dragon                    (c/n  2067)

                               

                                    This photograph (from the Geoff Goodall collection) was taken at Alexishafen, Papua New Guinea,
                                    circa 1947 when the Dragon was operated by the Catholic Mission.   It was formerly A34-78 and
                                    was civilianized in December 1945, being registered into the American Missionary Society VH-AM-
                                    series..   This, the first -AMO was destroyed by fire at Mingende, New Guinea three years later on
                                    New Year's Eve of 1949.
