VH-INX     'Kattana'                                                           c/n  18327

                                          Western Junction Airport, Launceston, 1952

This aircraft was an ex C-54B-5-DO built for the USAAF (43-17128) in May 1944.
Post war it went to Pacific Overseas Airlines as N74628, then to South Africa as ZS-BYO,
then to the UK Silver City mining operation as G-ALEP.  ANA purchased it in 1951, and
it remained with them (well, Ansett-ANA, anyway) until it was retired in 1970. It was broken
up at Melton, and the  remains were still around as late as the mid-1980s.  Greg Banfield's
shot (below) shows it in full Ansett-ANA Cargomaster livery at Mascot in February 1963.
