VH-INK  (2)     Aviation Traders ATL-98 Carvair                                     (c/n  20/42994)

Two more nice shots from the Peter Gates collection.   VH-INK is seen here in its Ansett-
ANA livery and also (immediately below) the final Ansett scheme.  Purchased as a DC-4
in 1964 from Japan Airlines (JA6012) with the purpose of having it converted to a Carvair,
this aircraft was sold off in 1976.  It was stored for a couple of years at Singapore Seletar
Airport  and then went to New Zealand as ZK-NWA.  It was later purchased by Hawaii
Pacific Air Inc as N5459X and is reputed to be still current on the Canadian register.
At the foot of the page is a rare shot of -INK as a DC-4 Cargomaster taken at Mascot
in June 1964 (courtesy of the Greg Banfield collection).  A year later it went off to South-
                                     end to become a Carvair.
