VH-AIS  Scottish Aviation Twin Pioneer                        (c/n  540)

                               

                                     The minuscule rego VH-AIS (under the Scottish Aviation rampant lion logo) can actually be read
                                     on the original of this print from a neg taken by Ern Flanders (via Geoff Goodall) at Perth in May
                                     1961.   This 'Twin Pin'  was the second to arrive in Australia, being ex G-APPH.   It was registered
                                     to Australian Iron and Steel at the time.  Several owners later it went to Aerial Agriculture Pty Ltd
                                     of Bankstown who used it as a freighter.  Although currently owned (2009) by Aviation Heritage
                                     of Coventry, UK, VH-AIS is on the current register, but actually stored off airport at Coolangatta.
