VH-AGG (2)  Cessna 185A Skywagon                    (c/n  185-00507)

                                  

                                        This shot, by Alistair Coutts, was taken at the old Maylands Airport, Perth, just before that field
                                        was closed to operations.  VH-AGG was one of three 185As acquired by Agricultural & General
                                        Aviation and was allocated the rego VH-RKT by Rex Aviation when they imported it     This was
                                        immediately changed to -AGG (Adastra having long relinquished the VH-AG series) before the
                                        Skywagon was ferried west in December 1962.   After retirement from ag work in January 1970
                                        it was returned to 4-seater configuration and sold to a private owner in WA   It was short lived after
                                        that, however, since on 8 June of that year it was wrecked when it overturned in a forced landing
                                        some 85 miles south of Port Hedland, WA.  The damaged fuselage later appeared in various Janda-
                                        kot hangars and was on the airport fire practice ground by 1972.
