VH-ADO  de Havilland D.H.82A Tiger Moth                  (c/n  82186)

                                    

                                        Here's an anomaly.  Theoretically this Tiger never bore the registration VH-ADO, going straight
                                        from G-AFNM to A17-684.   Clearly, however, as this Australian War Memorial collection photo
                                        (above) shows, it did!       The student pilot is having his parachute adjusted by an LAC before a
                                        training flight, circa 1940 in the early days of the Phony War.  This machine would soon be repainted
                                        into the RAAF training scheme yellow colors of the period.   After WW II it became VH-BIN.
