Mackenzie took this shot at Moorabbin on 7 December 1968. This
must have been an early
roll out
of the homebuilt since the aircraft was not given its CofA until July
of 1969. Designed by
John
Thorp and developed at the old San Fernando Valley airport (now long
gone) in California
back in
the early 1960s, the Tiger became one of the most popular of homebuilt
light aircraft
. VH-ACE was the
first of many constructed in Australia. This one is no
longer flying.
