VH-THG  Bell 47J-2 Ranger                                                   (c/n  1836)

                              

                                    One of two Bells purchased by TAA in the 1960s.  The other was VH-THH.   They operated
                                    the Essendon - Melbourne Heliport service.  Both shots taken at Essendon Airport, where the
                                    chopper ultimately met its end, crashing on the tarmac on 18 August 1965.   The remains were
                                    purchased by Ansett-ANA for scrap some years later.    Both shots date from 1964.  The upper
                                    by Geoff  Goodall and the lower by Barry Maclean.
