VH-TGT  de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter                    ( c/n   9)

                                

                                     Built as CF-UXE is August 1966, this early Twin Otter went to TAA in 1967, but was only with
                                     the airline a short while before being sold to Air Caledonie (in January 1968) as F-OCFJ.     The
                                     above shot is from the CAHS archives and shows the aircraft  receiving maintenance in a not-so-
                                     state-of-the-art hangar which correspondent Michael Doyle advises was at Mackay, Queensland..
                                     This hangar would later be used by Air Queensland who eventually operated the last of TAA's four
                                     Twin Otters in the region.  C/n 9, incidentally, later moved from Air Caledonie to Air Polynesie
                                     and then to Air Tahiti.  I sighted at Faa'a Airport in Tahiti in 1978.
